Picture of St. Anthony's Church and bell tower, taken in 1933 looking south-west. The square in front of the church was then covered with stone tiles, "kgniangata", and rose about three feet above street level. The square had a wall outlying its perimeter and a monument at the corner. The church was built around he sixteenth century. The tall tower dominated high over the surrounding fields, and with its bells signaled social and religious activities for many centuries, such as vesper every evening.
