The elections of Miss Puglia for 1999 are being organized by ARPA, Associazione Regionale Pugliesi d'America, that is Association of Pugliesi in America. Pugliesi is the Italian term for inhabitants or people whose origin is traced to the Puglia (Apulia) region of Italy. Previously the event was organized by the Association of Mola of Bari that has passed it on to ARPA.

ARPA announces that
the elections of Miss Puglia
will be held on February 20, 1999.


All girls of Pugliese extraction
(with at least one of the grandfathers full-blooded Pugliese)
that are between 18 and 24 years old
are eligible and invited to sign up.

Miss Puglia serves for a year as a symbol and ambassador of the Pugliese community, and participates to several events sponsored by ARPA, like the Columbus Day parade.
